Recycle Your Safety Footwear with Lemaitre

Lemaitre Sécurité: Leader in Environmental Innovation!

We are proud to introduce Lemaitre Circular, our groundbreaking pilot project that is transforming the safety footwear industry. As the first French manufacturer to offer a comprehensive circular economy solution, Lemaitre Circular underscores our commitment to the environment.

In 2022, we made a significant milestone with the launch of Lemaitre Safety Green (LSG), our internal eco-design label dedicated to sustainability.

The first LSG-certified range, TRAINER LSG, embodies this commitment. Composed of 25 to 30% recycled materials, these shoes meet stringent standards for durability and transparency.

At Lemaitre Sécurité, we are dedicated to producing durable and reliable personal protective equipment.

Our CSR approach is at the heart of our strategy, driven by our vision for a greener and safer future.

A New Era

In line with our commitment to a sustainable future, 2023 marks the beginning of a new era with the launch of our ambitious Lemaitre Circular pilot project.

This groundbreaking initiative aims to promote eco-responsible solutions in the field of personal protective equipment.

We collect, recycle, and upcycle used Lemaitre Safety Green footwear to contribute, on our scale, to environmental preservation and the promotion of a circular economy.

How Does Lemaitre Circular Work?
  • Collection of Lemaitre Safety Green Footwear

To ensure the effective collection of used Lemaitre Safety Green footwear in a clean manner, we work closely with our distributors who provide collection boxes.

The uncontaminated shoes are carefully gathered in these specialized collection boxes, designed for transport and storage. These boxes are crafted to maintain the integrity of the footwear during transit. Once the boxes are filled, they are transported to our Factory 4.0 in Alsace, where they will be processed as part of our Lemaitre Circular initiative.

  • Sorting the Components of Safety Footwear

Once the safety footwear is collected, we perform a selective sorting process to identify components that can be reused or recycled based on their condition.

Each shoe is then dismantled piece by piece to facilitate the recycling process.

  • Recycling the Soles of Your Safety Footwear

The soles of Lemaitre Safety Green footwear are carefully collected, cleaned, and sorted at our factory.

They are then mixed with production waste to create a new, sustainable raw material.

This innovative raw material is subsequently reused to manufacture new soles for LSG footwear, contributing to waste reduction and promoting a circular economy.

Our Commitment

With Lemaitre Circular, we are taking concrete steps to reduce our environmental footprint and shape a more sustainable future.

We are proud of our early successes: we have already recovered 10,000 end caps through our partnership with ESAT Adapei Papillons Blancs d’Alsace, and this is just the beginning!

Our ambitious goal is to recycle 30 tons of polyurethane waste annually, thereby reducing our carbon footprint and waste production.

By incorporating recycled materials into the production of our new products, we limit the use of new resources and significantly reduce our environmental impact.

We also raise awareness among workers about the importance of recycling and environmental issues, tackling this major challenge with determination.

Our Lemaitre Circular pilot project demonstrates that it is possible to create a circular economy in the safety footwear industry by producing durable, reusable, and recyclable products.

Together, we will make a difference for a sustainable future.
