Aware of environmental and societal challenges, Lemaitre Sécurité innovates by manufacturing its new ranges using recycled materials sourced responsibly.

Lemaitre is committed to the environment...

At Lemaitre Sécurité, we manufacture safety footwear designed to last. By producing high-quality models that stand the test of time, we not only reduce waste but also minimize our environmental impact, while ensuring optimal protection for our users.

This commitment to sustainability is not new!

In 2017, we built a new energy-efficient logistics site.

In 2020, we inaugurated our new 4.0 factory in Alsace, marking a significant step in our sustainability and innovation efforts.

In 2022, we took another major step by creating our internal eco-design label, Lemaitre Safety Green (LSG). This label, built following ISO 14021: 2016 (Environmental labels and declarations - Self-declared environmental claims, Type II Environmental Labelling), reflects our commitment to using recycled and responsibly sourced materials. We strive to incorporate more recyclable materials into our products and reduce the waste associated with their production.

By integrating more recycled materials, we are committed to adopting ethical manufacturing practices, from the selection of raw materials to the choice of our suppliers.

Lemaitre Safety Green, our internal label

With this label, we commit to reducing our environmental impact at every stage of our production process. Our goal is to manufacture durable, reliable, and eco-friendly personal protective equipment (PPE).

This label was launched with our new TRAINER LSG range, eco-designed safety shoes made from recycled or repurposed materials and components.

It is governed by a strict set of specifications that guides the creation of future Lemaitre safety footwear models, covering material selection, sourcing, and assembly locations.

Regarding materials, the specifications include the following elements. Their origin is also controlled. To be labeled Lemaitre Safety Green, at least 80% of the materials must come from short supply chains and be sourced from Europe or the Mediterranean basin. Additionally, the soles must be injected in France at our factory in Alsace.

Lastly, packaging is also considered. The shoes must be packaged in environmentally friendly packaging, using a shoebox made from 100% recycled cardboard.

Lemaitre Sécurité is proud to offer its pilot project, Lemaitre Circular, to its business partners.

The materials used

At Lemaitre Sécurité, we place the utmost importance on the quality of the materials we use while respecting our environmental commitment. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach, we have developed an internal label called Lemaitre Safety Green. This initiative is based on the expertise and dedicated work of our Research and Development (R&D) team.

Among these materials, we have chosen recycled PET. But what exactly is it?

Recycled PET, or rPET, is obtained by recycling plastic bottles and transforming them into thread, then fabric!

Recycled PET requires 59% less energy to produce than traditional PET.* By giving a second life to these types of objects, we reduce our environmental impact while offering high-quality safety footwear to our customers.

Let’s take our TRAINER LSG range as an example. For this range, labeled Lemaitre Safety Green, you will find:

The models labeled Lemaitre Safety Green

Today, we offer you 5 models labeled Lemaitre Safety Green, and this is just the beginning! These eco-designed safety shoes are certified to the new EN ISO 20345 standard.

The EDEN S3S and PLANET S3S models, with a sporty look, perfectly combine performance, protection, and elegance. These safety shoes are comfortable and lightweight, thanks to their polyester PET upper and Memory Foam insole.

Available in various colors and in both high-top or low-cut versions, these shoes will support you throughout your day, both at work and outside.

For workers in construction and roadwork, we have also designed durable safety shoes. The MISTRAL S3S and LEVANTE S3S models offer unbeatable traction thanks to their treads, raised heels, and drainage channels. Additionally, with their high-resistance leather, composite fiber HDFC toe cap, and puncture-resistant insert, they provide ultimate protection on your worksite. All this without compromising on durability, as they are made from recycled or repurposed materials and components!

Finally, because women also deserve durable safety footwear, we recently launched a new 100% feminine model, the EVA S3S.

Made from recycled materials.

With Lemaitre Safety Green, choose durable, reliable, and eco-friendly personal protective equipment, without compromising on quality or safety.

To close the loop, we collect, disassemble, sort, and repurpose Lemaitre Safety Green-labeled products through our pilot project, Lemaitre Circular.

We are convinced that we can make a difference for a more sustainable future, while always prioritizing the safety of workers.
